Dear BlackAtlanta Site Visitor,
My decision to run for mayor stems from a lifelong desire to serve Atlanta, ignited first when I was 11 years old and sitting in my grandfather’s church, where Maynard Jackson launched his inaugural political bid. My youthful dream of serving Atlanta has been sharpened by my experiences as a businesswoman, a public servant and a civic leader. The role of mayor is not simply one of identifying problems – it is one that requires smart, creative answers and a sound temperament. During my service as President of the City Council, I recognized that the next mayor must be one willing to commit herself to the tough and thorny issues of fiscal management while also burnishing the reputation of the city as a place to live, work, and play. I am running for the office of mayor because I am uniquely qualified to restore Atlanta’s fiscal stability and grow her capacity.
I am the only candidate for mayor who has the requisite corporate leadership, political leadership, civic engagement and broad regional and political relationships to serve the city. My corporate background includes 30 years of business leadership, including operating a healthcare practice, serving as a senior vice president for Cousins’ Properties, operating a small business that brought a WNBA franchise to Atlanta and heading the Grady Foundation.

Driving down the street the other day, I saw a coruplast street sign, "Ceasar Mitchell For Mayor"... Today, I read that he was car jacked the other night. He seems ok. We went to his website, www.ceasarmitchell.com and don't see much in regards to a mayoral run. However, we did think his biography was notable and wanted to reprint it.
If anyone has any further information, use the comments section in the full article to let us know.

Last week, my family traveled to Chicago to visit my mother-in-law and to get out and enjoy the wonderful sites, sounds, and tastes of summertime Chicago. As we made the 11 hour trek, we arrived in Chicago to bitter news. The Burr Oaks Cemetary Management team in the suburbs of Chicago had several members jailed.... They had started a ring to exhume bodies from the cemetary, dispose of the bodies in inhumane ways, and resell the plots. To do this, they crushed caskets and vaults, and dismembered the bodies to fit in multi-person graves.
Immediately, our mouths dropped as we had planned to visit that cemetary while there.... to visit my father-in-law's grave. Hearts racing, we made a few visits and unloaded the SUV, had a quick lunch and then proceeded to the burbs where the cemetary is located. What we saw when we got there was tragic.
