| The women of Cascade United Methodist
Church are bringing an exceptional array of talent and
personalities to! gether THIS WEEKEND to speak to the
needs of todays woman. The Women's Conference,
now in its eleventh year, will take place on Friday,
September 23, Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September
25.
"It's My Time . . . Refresh, Renew, Restore,
is the theme of this years assembly which begins
at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with Michelle McKinney Hammond
delivering a thought-provoking message
to women. Founder of HeartWing Ministries and a nationally-sought
after speaker and Chicago area television talk show,
Ms. Hammond is a best-selling author publishing more
than twenty-four books including What to Do Until
Lov! e finds You, Secrets of an Irresistible Woman
and The Power of Femininity. Award winning Christian
artist Babbie Mason and newcomer Lori Perry,
will offer their ministry through music.
Saturday morning features 14 workshops designed to
help women embrace their roles as wives, mothers,
and single adults and respond to life's challenges.
Workshop titles include: Journey of a Strong
Willed Child, Lifes Balancing Act,
Five Love Languages, Parenting101,
Basic Needs As Applied to Seniors, Evangelism
in the Workplace, and Empowering Choices,
to name a few.
Jane Fonda and Ms. Hammond will also share
the stage on Saturday as the days featured presenters.
Long recognized for her commitment to social justice,
Fonda is known for her groundbreaking call-to-action
in the 1980s encouraging women to concentrate
on their physical health and adopt a more active lifestyle.
Currently, she focuses her energies on reducing Georgia's
teen pregnancy rates through G-CAPP, which she founded
in the 90's.
